Cate Le Bon's “Pompeii”

CD Redesign

The goal for this project was to re-photograph an album cover that conveys the message behind the album and captures the album’s ambience and style of music. I chose the album “Pompeii” by artist Cate Le Bon, an eccentric and experimental indie rock record.

When I was exploring how I could capture the idea of duality represented in the album with concept shots, I used black and white backgrounds in different pictures. However, I felt that these pictures didn’t really capture the feel of the music.

I went on to explore how a circle could show duality; hiding the true meaning behind misunderstandings. A figure hidden behind a circle and the figure without a circle.
